The author knows that promiscuity during this era leads to many diseases so I don't understand how the ML seemingly doesn't have any. How is the FL not concerned about this after her relationship with the crown prince? I don't enjoy that after having countless affairs with other women whilst engaged at all. I've dropped this manga in the past but after being bombarded with tiktok videos on how everything from the art to the story is fantastic, I've forced myself to pick it back up. Can someone spoil whether she meets with Emiliano in this life because frankly that's what I'm hoping for?

Not sure why you’re forcing yourself to read something you dislike. It just doesn’t make any sense even if you’re bombarded by TikTok influences. Game of Thrones was very popular and I kept hearing about it but the subject matter of rape, incest and other issues I do not like never enticed me to pick it up. If you dont like something, the best thing to do is not read it.

As to the manhwa, the information it gave about the sex life of ML is very vague. The reader doesn’t know who he slept with, how often he slept with anyone and how many he slept with. Just like a person can sleep with a single person and contract an illness, a person can sleep with more than one person selectively and do not get an illness.

FL doesn’t care and will never care about his past. She knew in previous lives he was always healthy so she didn’t think he would get sick in this life. FL also lives in a promiscuous society so something like this doesn’t phase her one bit. Readers seem not to get that about her. Rather than observing FL for herself, they normally foist their own beliefs on FL so they’re not even trying to understand her. It’s really telling that recently the novel author of this story was responding to Korean fans complaints about her current FL in her new novel and the author’s response was that her current FL is even worse that Ines, the FL of this story. At least the author knows her own character Ines is a flawed person and don’t make her out to be a saint like manhwa readers do.

As to Emiliano, let me burst your bubble now. Ines has said she doesn’t want to ruin her life again or his and that means she does not intend to ever meet him again. He was her WRONG path just as much as the crown prince was her WRONG path. It’s never going to happen. Added to that is the fact that she murdered his child. Think they can stand to be in each other’s company after all that? No. So if you want to read for that, you should know it is never going to happen. Even if the manhwa try to change the story, they will end up in a colossal mess because this novel is not a “light” novel. Everything is extremely intricately woven and messing with one thing leads to confusion in another part. It has already happened in the previous chapters. So no, it’s likely they learned their lesson and will portray the novel’s story more faithfully because this is not some naive, immature story. Author thought through the story thoroughly and wrote it accordingly.

First and foremost I want to give the story a chance. I'm only on chapter 15 and I'm not going to let how I feel about a quarter of the manga dictate how I feel about the entire manga. That's ridiculous, isn't it? I do enjoy parts of the story, I enjoy the FL is cool-headed and fast-thinking that's something that you seldom see in the romance genre so she enticed me just as much as the high ratings did. Funnily enough much like you I didn't want to watch Game of Thrones however after actually giving it a shot I loved it. Yes, there were plenty of scenes that I didn't appreciate but other than that I see as to why it has so many accolades. When you begin something that you may not enjoy sometimes it's best to give it the benefit of the doubt.

We're not idiots. Show don't tell is an integral part of crafting a story. Just because we don't see him having sex with every damsel that crosses his vision doesn't mean we're naive to the fact he's an infamous womaniser. We know that he was promiscuous. We know he's had sex with multiple women. We know he's 'skilled' in bed. That's his source confidence in tearing down Ines's cool and calm demeanour. Again the creator has already presented their knowledge of sexually transmitted diseases. Yes, it's possible to sleep around and not catch any but that's highly unlikely. I don't understand how after having 4 miscarriages due to her husband sleeping around she doesn't have any qualms.

That's fine if she doesn't care about his past. I find it unrealistic though if she wants to live a long healthy life that she's willing to have sex with someone like him. She said she wants to die a normal death I don't know how such a smart character doesn't worry at all.
She knows not all time lines are identical, things can change so the healthy character that she saw in her previous lives may not be the case now.

Thank you for doing that I would've greatly appreciated it if you started your response with this. I understand she may have remorse for murdering his child but the child would've most likely experienced a crueler fate. She already knew of her father's intentions to 'eliminate' the child anyway. You say 'they' implying Emiliano knows their previous life - I don't know whether you've spoiled unintentionally but I'll assume not. Ines acknowledged Emiliano was her true love and Emiliano shared that feeling she knows where she's gone wrong in the past I don't see how she can't take active steps to remedy that. Whether that may be keeping him as a lover whilst their married or preparing a better elopement.

That’s because like Ines, most readers are ignorant of the depth of this story. Like Ines, readers take her word as the gospel truth. The progression of the manhwa shows just how unreliable she was. She cast the ML is the worst possible light but as some on TikTok already realized, his body might not be clean because he slept with a few women but her soul is far cleaner than Ines’s soul. Or didn’t you see that on TikTok too.

For the record, this story is all about revealing how much Ines was ignorant of and how much she will change. Saying Emiliano is her True love? Where did she say that? Ines never said he was her true love? Ines said she experienced “true” love with him compared to the crown prince. Anybody who was treated like that by the crown prince and then treated the extreme opposite by another man would call the other kind of love “true” vs the fake love she got from the crown prince. Just wait until she experienced a higher level of love that will leave her saying she doesn’t understand that higher level of love. Fortunately for Ines, she’s in for a better, deeper, tried-and-true and tested love. A love that she could never ever conceive of or imagine.

Ines also said a lot of things in the beginning of this story that the story proves out is her ignorance and surety of others when she doesn’t know a thing. She based her judgement of Carcel solely based on her past life even while later admitting she didn’t know him. Why does he keep surprising her now that they live together and he’s acting contrary to everything she believed? Because she didn’t know a damn thing about him except for the rumors. It’s the same way she talks about her previous life as though it was perfect and then the truth comes out little by little. It’s so blatantly clear for readers who can see through that she romanticized that life and later even says so.

As to Carcel’s sexual history, he is not the only one on this story who has slept with others and isn’t ill. Your belief doesn’t dictate that something must be true just like everyone who smokes every day doesn’t get cancer or drinks every day doesn’t get liver disease, etc. There are people who sleep around in certain cultures even today who has multiple kids from multiple women in the West and doesn’t have STDs. You don’t even know whom Carcel slept with. You don’t know their sexual history. Ines slept with a complete stranger without knowing anything about him. A stranger could have STDs or not. Nothing is certain.

Now as to Ines knowing the past and changing it, well, didn’t she change it when she decided to dubcon a complete stranger then run away with him? Look how that turned out. Murder-suicide was that ending. Ines isn’t the type of person to try that again. She also doesn’t want to try it again. She’s a person who learned from her mistakes. Ines isn’t even naturally a romantic person. There’s no way she will risk her life for romance like that again. When she chose that complete stranger, she admits that she just wanted to be loved by somebody. That somebody could have been anybody that would do. She wanted to feel loved after being trampled and humiliated by her life with crown prince. She tried that way and it still ended with her death and more trauma upon the trauma she already had with the crown prince. So if you think Ines is some simple person when she is at heart an extremely complicated woman, the manhwa isn’t doing a horrible job.

    StoryofMinglan March 25, 2024 2:40 pm

Correction, if you think Ines is a simple woman rather than an extreme,y complex one, the manhwa is doing a horrible job. Ines is one of the most complicated FL that I have ever read. She’s not a romantic sap either. She’s always the last one to fall in love in her relationships.

You seem to take great issue that I picked up this manga due to Tiktok. Contrary to what you believe Tiktok displays him in a far better light than you could imagine, videos don't even reference he's a womaniser with an affinity to debauchery. They paint him much as a 'golden retriever' husband. I don't think how the FL views Carcel is entirely incorrect at all. She thinks of him as a playboy who doesn't want to be tied down. She was right to some extent. He joined the army to delay the marriage. Continued to have affairs and did little to cover them up. In fact Carcels desire to be faithful to her during their marriage largely comes out of upsetment that Ines isn't completely infatuated with him like he thought she was. In the act of cheating on her, he experience ED simply because he knew Ines didn't like him. Honestly the only thing she was somewhat off about is how prideful he is. I hope as I progress throughout the story I'll be proven wrong and I'll see 'his soul his cleaner than hers'

It's not 'my belief' it's fact there is a strong association between number of sexual partners and having an STD. As one increases the chance of the other increases as well. Regardless I don't care whether the ML has one or not what I do care about is how after explicitly stating she wants to die a normal death Ines does not express any qualms with sleeping with him. Ines slept with a complete stranger because she had not care for her life at that point in time, she simply wanted relief from the abuse she had experienced at the hands of the crown prince. In this life she wants to live long and yet she risks exposing herself to STIs

Murder-suicide was the ending because her elopement wasn't planned out properly. Despite Emiliano originally being the random stranger she decided to choose to heal her wounds from the crown prince she genuinely loved him. 'When true love finally found she was taken by it in an instant' Ines may not be romantic but she wanted to experience love and she received that from Emiliano. In turn, she found herself loving him. The fact that was she willing to have a child with him after experiencing 4 miscarriages is undeniable proof of that. She learned what was wrong in her previous life therefore she should know the active steps to avoid meeting the same tragic ending. Nonetheless, it's fine if she doesn't want to pursue Emiliano, even though I can acknowledge that despite my longing for them to be together the trauma may be too great for her. What I can't fathom is her approach with Carcel and quite frankly why the fandom likes him.

    StoryofMinglan March 25, 2024 5:03 pm

Seems you already made up your mind about Carcel and Ines. Ines was dead wrong about Carcel. She even says it repeatedly throughout the story. Even near the end, she finds out a shocking truth about Carcel that made her cry and confirmed yet again how much she didn’t know him. She realized how much she assumed and presumed about him. But keep assuming and presuming like her. Good job.

As to that fairytale you made up about Ines and Emiliano, I can tell the manhwa has done a terrible job. Like author said to a novel reader who asked her if Ines “genuinely” loved Emiliano even that reader questioned if it was genuine. Because you see, in the novel, which the manhwa can’t quite capture, she speaks of him like a fairytale. That was the tell take sign that she romanticizes him. Like author said, she’s like a murderer who cannot forget her guilt for even a moment. So she embellishes everything about him. Emiliano was useful for the time she spent with him but he didn’t heal her. She was experiencing nightmares, seizures and memory loss from her time with the crown prince. What he did accomplish is lessening her trauma of the crown prince by literally worshipping her like a goddess. Ines began to feel treasured and not dirty anymore.

Still, all of that pales in comparison to what’s in store for her. Readers who are up to date has already learned why Carcel is good for her. But if you’re reading thinking this is somebody else’s love story other than Ines and Carcel, you’re definitely wasting your time. Every single thing in this story is about Ines and Carcel. Even when the other men show up, it’s to further the story of Ines and Carcel. Anyways, good luck with reading something you hate. Cheers.

Your comments put me off of reading the manga more than the manga itself does LMFAO. I've explicitly stated that I'm only a quarter of a way through so there should be more than enough time for the manga to do what you've stated. That includes Carcel isn't a cheating bastard and Ines is ignorant. I'm not presuming because everything she's stated about him except his interest in the marriage has been true. The fact that he's a rampant cheater? True. The fact that he didn't want to be engaged? True. The fact that he still wants the freedom to sleep around? True. 15 chapters in and 90% of what she has prophesied has been accurate so you can get off your bloody high horse.

I've made no fairytale if that is how their love was depicted in the manga. You talk about the 'novel this, novel that' most people reading the manga right now have very little knowledge about the novel and have come into this blind. If an accurate representation of Ines and Emiliano's relationship is due to the failure of the creator then so be it but you cannot sit down and tell me that Ines did not love him when that was how it was portrayed in the manga.

And when I catch up to the latest chapter I will be the decider of that for I am not someone who drops something based on how I initially feel about it. I greatly sense you've dropped plenty of brilliant series due to your impatience and that sucks a lot for you. Hopefully, you learn to adapt.

just please keep in mind that ines is not a flat character, she's very flawed, as stated by the other commenter she's a very unreliable narrator, honestly just keep reading it if u want. and really having this much uhm assessment for a manhwa you've only read 15 chapters of i would say just read further more because even at the beginning i even saw the story as just a girlboss and her whiny husband, but it really gets better.

Also keep in mind that the manhwa itself has remove many key points that made carcel look reasonable and made ines better so idk. there's been a lot of hate towards carcel because of this but many of the novel readers love both of the characters, even the novelist themselves had an opinion regarding this.

Ines did love Emiliano after they ran away but she stopped loving him after he died. The author said that in a Q&A so if ppl still think she loves him, then that's the manhwa not doing a good job at portraying the story bc throughout the whole story, she nvr want to meet him again. She gets seizures bc she feels guilty to him everytime she sees something that remind her of him. There's no reason for her to ever want to see him again when just seeing a necklace from their past together makes her have seizure.

Ines only thinks Carcel is a playboy bc the lifetime when she married the prince, he had a bunch of rumors of him being playboy so she only think he's a playboy bc of that lifetime. It's not like he was sleeping around at 6 yrs old when she forced him to an engagement. Manhwa will nvr show all the reason why she chose him bc they want Ines to look good in the manhwa. In the novel, the author doesn't try to do that.

FYI there are ppl who don't make such blatant assumptions and hate on a work to drop it early on. I myself wait until half way through the story to even get any clear view of the characters. I don't hate characters from the beginning bc there's always going to be a reveal later to show why that happen. Like Carcel was with someone in the beginning but I know he's ML so I wait to see why he was doing that and it didn't take me that long to see it in the novel bc in the novel it show Ines trying to use and manipulate him. Manhwa cut that out so ppl will still be hating him even now.

The manhwa will never show all the reason why Ines chose Carcel bc it wouldn't make her look good.

Besides, although he was a famous playboy. He didn’t have STD like someone else, had many women around him but never did prostitution, and had sex within normal sense... she couldn’t believe the potential she need was in that kid.

    This is Oscar’s guarantee.

If Carcel Escalante had done any of them, whether he had STD, or did prostitution, or male prostitution (comparing Carcel to Oscar), the Crown Prince, who was so jealous of his cousin, would have told the world.

Even though there are so many skinship stories, they were all within a common sense, so I couldn’t even remember them. It’s just that he has a lot of desires, but not a pervert (also comparing Carcel to Oscar).

Why are we discussing what Ines thinks as if it changes the fact that his being a playboy is already confirmed and cemented? He acknowledges he sleeps around and is upset by the fact his freedom is being revoked through this marriage. I understand that he had no romantic feelings towards Ines but for him to cheat and for all his affairs to be spread around like wildfire, it disgusts me the complete lack of respect he has. It's one thing to cheat, it's another for your dirty laundry to be hung around for everyone to see. He even went as far as to blatantly cheat in front of Ines. What pisses me off even more is the fact his change in character is solely ignited by the fact he realises Ines isn't infatuated with him.

These are not blatant assumptions at all. You act as if I've called Carcel a disgusting human being - I haven't. I dislike his actions and how swiftly he switches up. This isn't a blatant assumption. I dislike how after having been plagued with STDs in her first life Ines isn't concerned about that now. There is a severe lack of caution which if anything is a completely out of character. That isn't a blatant assumption at all. If the manga is cutting things out then so be it that won't stop me from making comments on what I've been presented.

This will be the last comment I leave on this manga because after reading chapter 30 I don't like the direction in which the story is going. In an ideal world Ines ends up alone having dealt with her trauma in a healthier way with Carcel, if anything, being a pillar of support as opposed to being her romantic partner.
