Here’s my analogy, if I agree to have sex with someone and halfway through they restrain me and continue without my consent, then it’s no longer sex, it’s rape. There is no comparing the horror of being raped to anything, especially if you’re comparing it to something as fucking stupid as a wet floor sign. Rapists aren’t a puddle on the floor that you can easily avoid, they are people planning out how they want to hurt you.

You’re right, this is fictional. Which means I CAN expect anything, if the author wanted to he make anything happen! So it’s a disgusting letdown when the author chooses to do this with such a good series.

I know that I'm kind of late to this conversation but I just want you all to know that Ash took suppressants for over a decade.This means that he did not have sex with anyone during his rut period for that decade.This is his first time having his rut for over ten years. So the other alphas in rut that you are mentioning probably would have an easier time dealing with their rut as they didn't take suppressants for so long. Additionally chances are the alphas who you are talking about were with an omega at the time of their rut. In omegaverse Alphas and Omegas secrete an increased amount of pheromones nearing or when in rut/heat. Generally since the alpha's and omega's pheromones are compatible,the rut/heat will not last for an extended period of time.

In the DTR novel a character called Hazel (Ash's ex) says that Ash's rut would be easier and be more frequent if Karlyle was an omega. But since Karlyle is an alpha he does not have those abilities. Also in the novel about 2 or 3 volumes later Ash goes into rut again,but this time Karlyle is in rut with him. We see that Ash appears to be more conscious of his actions instead of in a rut induced haze. He is more caring and loving instead of being rough. Ash acts differently as he already experienced his initial rut (the one he is having now). So technically speaking Ash's rut is not always this rough,but after he held it in for 10 years this is what the outcome is.

I guess what I mean to say is that It would have been harder for Ash to hold back since this is his first rut in a long time.Although I am not trying to make excuses for his behavior this is my personal analogy of why I think Ash should not be compared to the other alphas in Omega verse. The information used here is what I have acquired from over two years in the Omegaverse and DTR community. Some of the information is bound to be wrong so my apologies in advance.
