I don't think the emperor wanted to hurt the mc. I actually think he was protecting her by making her leave in an abandoned palace rather than to die. He couldn't do anything more than that because his people were pressuring me, instead he supported her with her necessities like food.
It’s probably as you say but it’s still so negligent to never visit to make sure. If he truly did it for her, I wanna see him finding her pierced with ice and realizing what he’s done but we are probably not gonna get that (〜￣△￣)〜
Yeah but she can still be a angry tho. The story shows her not really hating emperor all that much but she looked as if she hated everything in the scene where she unalived herself. I really wished they made her angry at the emperor for sentencing her to a cruel life even though she knew deep down he did it to protect her cus 19 years alone doesn't raise a kind child. She could still forgive him and if she did she would feel guilty for being mad at the emperor while she was hiding her powers. Maybe its just me but human characters with human emotions just makes a story so fun to read.

To me, rather than angry, she seemed to be tired. Tired with everything, with her life, with how dull and lonesome and horrible it has been for her. No wonder girl was depressed - her whole life was full of abuse and neglect. She understood that the Emperor had been supporting her throughout the years and didn't cast her to die, but we also saw that before they came into contact in this life, the Emperor didn't care for her as much as he does now (flashback to when the Duke was mad at the Emperor for sending the music box to their sister.)
While I understand why it would be nice to see her angry, in the end, this is more of a healing story rather than a revenge one. That's why her mother was dealt with so quickly. It just isn't that kind of story.
Even if she was angry at some point, I'm sure it would've melted away quick after seeing how cared for she really is.
As a side note, I've always found feelings of anger very exhausting, even more so at times when my depression gets worse. She was depressed and done enough with life to commit suicide - I'm not surprised if she simply didn't have the energy to feel such strong/intense emotions. To me it looked like she had just given up on everything already. (Again, I get what you mean, this is just me sharing my view on this.)

Is it just me or is she forgiving the emperor too quickly? Bruv sentenced her to a life of isolation when she did nothing wrong. She know she did nothing wrong and she's already proven she can get angry with how she treated alicia so why isn't she angry at the emperor???
