Yep absolutely agree, it makes the story more interesting and rather sad/depressing, because the only one actually interested in Tay for who he is is Ilay, though with Ilay it's more in a fascinated/curious kind of way, like this guy has the balls to talk to me like this while knowing what I do to people, but despite what an awful human being he is it's sadly still the better treatment compared to everyone else who solely values him for his superstitious luck and literally nothing else.

Yep I agree with you. Ilay got fascinated with Tay coz of him being good luck and all . Even Shinru was same . But Apparently he actually started to like him as a person not as a 'thing' .
But I have to say What a bad luck Tay has , his uncle uses him , his bro gives no shit, Shinru intrested in his charm , Kyle is like okay I gotta save him coz he's useful. Only this Psycho is somewhat bearable
I feel like no one actually sees Tay as a human being. Even this Ilay's brother eager to save cause Tay is 'a source of good luck ' and his friend's nephew..... Then nothing else.
His Ultra mega IQ brother sucked all his luck
