Should've stayed in it's lane

It was a very cute, fluffy story that had a very innocent feeling to it but it just ungracefully veered into the direction of melodrama and sex scenes. It just feels weird when very innocent stories about middle schoolers have them having explicit sex later on. And the generic drama that felt like it brought out the worst in the characters just like an unnecessary attempt to add depth to a story that didn't need it.
