Agree with the start, I had to take a break from 30+ chapters but continued the raws and actually liked it. It's of course not perfectly written but it has some good points tbh
1) the alpha being on the receiving end
2) good communication on the pregnancy news (i think everyone was expecting a chasing arc XD)
3) the message of giving a second chance not at the toxic ex but at someone who actually treats you right
4) Jae In being the same as Jeonghyuk is one I actually noticed and liked tbh the difference between them is that Jae In moved on now. Jeonghyuk also needs to get a life tbh
Sorry I just can't see anything good about this.
Omega abused, confined and raped the alpha and never had a redemption arc, they just showed his sad past and, because alpha has a huge mommy issues towards his omega parent, he saw how Jae in is pathetic and decided to take care of him even though he is just unredeemable trash.
Other thing that enraged me is how Jae in mistreats other omegas.
Giving second chances to whom? You mean at another relationship? Because Alpha always been good to him, Jae in is the one who needed to beg for forgiveness.
I noticed people tend to be a lot more lenient when the one being mistreated and raped is the top. For me that's actually pretty personal because I've been in a similar situation where the person I was dating used they suffering to trap and manipulate me. We were only friends but I was coerced into dating because I cared. But since I'm a top, people don't sees it as rape, not even me at the time. Thanks to all the gaslighting, I actually believed it was all my fault for being incapable of reciprocating their feelings.
It's been more than 10 years but the scars never fully healed, to the point I lost interest in being with people (I used to be bi, now I'm ace).
Back on topic, Jae in moved on because he had all the support in the world from friends and ml, he didn't do a single thing to deserve it.
I agree with Jae In's redemption arc, the author really hasn't gotten into it. I don't know if it'll be explored in the side stories or if the author focused too much on Jeonghyuk but I am satisfied at the ending. Yup, I'm talking about second chances in another relationship!
Also thank you for being brave in sharing your story, but yeah readers tend to be more lenient with it bcoz of the change in dynamics. I mean it's fictional, I just hope they're not like that in real life. It's something new and for an omegaverse it's one of the few out there. Doesn't make it right ofc but still. I agree that Jae In might have not done a single thing to deserve the good people he has right now but then I'm someone who believes everyone deserves a good support system.
I don't know but maybe I'm also just projecting into Jae In I've read too much foolish MCs that one of the things I liked about him is that he didn't flinched and hesitate when his ex told his "reasons". His attitude towards other omegas is the coping mechanism and his insecurity talking since he knows he's a defective omega w/o his pheromones. In the end, this isn't a wholesome story really. I'm still continuing reading to see their baby tho XD
I also believe in second chances and everyone deserves to be loved, that's precisely why I think redemption arcs are a must when there's abuse involved.
I like wholesome stories but I don't look for it in everywhere, certainly not in this one, I just think this one in particular lacks too much to make a good story with well developed characters and plausible consequences for their actions.
Sorry but I don't buy that kind of copping mechanism. Is the same if you say Ed Kemper's copping mechanism for all the abuse he suffered from his mother was to kill and rape college girls.
Exploitation and abuse isn't "copping" with anything. It's the exactly opposite.
I agree with you about all the doormats bottoms out there, I also have a huge dislike for that kind of characters and stories too. One of the reasons I really tried to read this one was because I thought it was going to be different but, after 40 chapters, it's the same plot you see everywhere, the only difference is that the abusive asshole is the omega.
The omega is an abusive disgusting piece of trash, a petty rapist that think he's the shit when he's just pathetic. He's the same kind of trash his ex is, exactly the same.
I persevered till chapter 40 even though I hated from the beginning hoping it would get better but no, the story is so full of holes it's infuriating!! Poorly written even...
Alpha with Stockholm syndrome that is way to good for the disgusting omega.
The only "saving grace", in terms of personality, are the 2 underlings, but not even good enough because they are completely useless and let the rat that got their boss raped go free, and the guy that stabbed his boss when it would be nearly impossible for him to run in that place... But again, that's the plot full of holes fault...
I wish I could understand why the hell ya all like this so much... Hours I will never get back. (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ
