Dunno how to explain very well, but that's kinda the language that was spoken during that time I think. Since the setting is more of the royal monarch eras in the manhwa.

Like in Shakespeare's writing, for example.

They should have stick to modern languages TBH, ain't nobody speaking old English nowadays

    Epicmommazz March 23, 2024 3:08 am

But if it's in modern language, it wouldn't fit the setting as well I guess

Yea but the settings is not imp it's the readers that is imp, even when writing a novel there is a rule stating that even if u decide to write a story from 19 century the English u use should be of the current English the Audience are speaking

Boo before u comment, the rule was not made by me but by the publishers and editors, so go rant on them, and the artist is korean, so the English translation was not made by her, IDIOT!

how on earth do u think their characters speaking old language in historical setting would be in anyway not important? great writers know how to make their story immersive and that includes every little aspects of the story. there's no rule about shit like that just bc you're too dumb to understand complicated language omg

Well Miss perfect, the writer is korean and not English first of all and before u call others dumb, look urself in the mirror and check the comment once more, did I say that the writers have to write in modern English? It's the rule given by the publishers and editors so that majority of the audience can read it, and finding old English hard to understand is not dumb it's just that iam living in the modern world not a grandma like u, so bye Felicia, better get some education before commenting,

If you can’t understand what they’re saying you’re definitely too young to even be reading this manhwa

There's no "rule" that was made or anything. It was the creator's choice.

I never said anything about the creator, I just said there is a rule made by the publishers and editors, and yes that RULE EXIST. That's what I'm saying only and nothing else

it is modern english though. in both senses.
the language ME started around 1700, earlier if you count early modern english.

it's just written in a way to appear historical, but pretty sure grammar and even vocab wise it's present day english, don't remember a word that is so out of date it hasn't be used for centuries.

also this translation is published so that point is useless to argue about anyway since it's clearly not the case here.

The words are not that complicated. It just has a couple of archaisms here and there. It is the kind of english that the highest social class in the uk speaks even now.
