Male artist

It’s so obvious when a man draws graphic novels. Any woman would know how uncomfortable and even painful it is for a woman with large breasts to run and jump around without a sports bra. Yet women in series like these are always drawn in the equivalent of a bikini. No self respecting female warrior/knight would ever wear such useless and counterproductive attire to do battle.

You’re right. It’s fiction. I should base my logic on the assumption that antigravity magic is being applied to their breasts and not on the likely possibility that the attire in this series is the result of misogyny. Makes sense.

Because obviously… women being depicted as sex objects is nothing to point out with disapproval. Openly stating how illogical and gender biased the clothing in a series is - clearly means I’m in hysterics. Yup.

Look it's not even THAT big it's relatively medium size and look at it they use bandage to tighten it like every other female ninja/warrior, so they don't have to worry about it being flow left and right. Plus look at the yaoi manhwa look at all those Smeat they're packing and yet none of us complaint (well mostly because man doesn't read BL). It's because they're our fantasy, our imagination, our dragon and magic and sword. Don't put real world problem to fantasy it just make it very tasteless.

So basically you’re saying… don’t have an opinion if it isn’t a form of praise… am I right? Try rereading my first comment. All I said was that it’s obvious the artist is male and then explained why I feel that is so. I didn’t insult anyone or use rude language. Yet you’re response was an overreaction telling me to calm down. Like- am I not entitled to an opinion if it differs from yours?

—— Don’t use real world logic to form opinions for fantasy based novels? ——As a retired novelist, who used to write young adult fantasy novels, I can tell you that that’s the most ridiculous advice I’ve ever heard from a reader. Fantasy writing that isn’t believable to the audience isn’t likely to do well. Even magic stories use “logic” to make the unbelievable results acceptable to the readers by creating “rules”. Example- magic is an energy source that exists inside all living things. Or magic exists in the air and can be channeled through the body via practice and spells. Whatever the rules are they exist because unrestrained fantasy is actually unenjoyable to most readers.

Society’s values are also essential. If I depict a world with a very muslim like setting where women are beaten and devalued I will likely have very few readers in America unless the story is about those women overcoming the oppression of their situation, because American values matter to American readers. Similarly, women’s rights values matter to women readers. As a woman, I don’t enjoy reading stories where women are sexualized.

As long as I respectfully express my opinion, in a nonoffensive way, then that amounts to my opinion and nothing more. I don’t need to be treated like a hysterical or angry person just for saying that the artist is clearly male and why I suspect that. But since this is a concept that you clearly don’t understand, I’ll ask you outright- please respect my opinion and don’t accuse me of things that aren’t true. That’s just respect.

Ey I didn't cross the line, I respect anyone opinion. But calling someone misogynistic by just their art there are a few exceptions I mean yeah sometimes you can but come on just enjoy the story.

Fiction imitates life and life imitates fiction. They’re often closer than what’s seen on the surface. And not wanting to look with a thoughtful lens doesn’t take away from someone else’s critical thinking.

Why are you guys having a philosophical debate in the comments section Alan

Because if we were to attempt to have this discussion about the philosophy of “sexually explicit attire depicted on fictional female characters” at work our coworkers would possibly look at us strangely. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

They like it when they fly. Seen too much comments like this. And this is the same reason I don't read this anymore (and the messy chapters too...).

I understand where you’re coming from. Sometimes it’s really frustrating for me to see so much of this in other comics.
