Maybe the forced kiss scenario was not the best context for giving that advice, but it was a good one, because the mc is clearly only able to say no and stand his ground in front of the ML... With everyone else, the mc just lets them push him around and/or manipulate him. The younger celebrity boy is using the mc's pity and guilt to force him to do stuff he shouldn't have to do (like playing night bodyguard for free for a younger guy he's not even interested in). The ML is right about that.
