Typical story and execution is not done well. Suddenly, everyone likes her. And suddenly, ONE servant is dismissed, one who followed the original character’s bidding down to the T, and that seems to apparently solve ALL problems about abuse. And suddenly, there is a good maid in the house. She’s suddenly off to random stuff that will inevitably happen and keep the boy safe, even before she can actually establish a relationship with her stepson.
