Huh? Wdym by not knowing what twins are? There’s different types of twins, most common are identical twins and fraternal twins. Both twins are born around the same time.
The difference is that identical twins commonly look alike (can be same gender or opposite genders), there are some that also don’t look the same but share the same genes.
Fraternal twins are not identical. They can be the same gender or different genders. But they look different.

Identical twins share a placenta and exact genetic makeup while fraternal twins are just born at the same time. They are most definitely twins, just not identical.
