Based on what I read so far, there's no grooming happens or it's just me?

There's zero grooming. It seems like the boy is obsessed with her all on his own due to his family, and his skewed personality. Plus, home girl has always thought of the boy leaving at some point. She has no interest in keeping him around at all, so this story is safe imo (^^)b
