But he’s being fairly honest. He’s actually doing the right thing by not giving him hope or misleading him. What you suggested is not applicable and if he said that, it would be a blatant lie
yeahhh at least that it's just the fact he hasn't said there's "another guy" which would be more transparent or just less hurtful in the end
if the mc was like "i want to work towards a relationship with you" to the black haired guys without having unresolved feelings of the ginger guy
