I disagree, trans ppl get surgery and that saves lives, there are many types of medical plastic surgery as well. Also, it's up to the person themselves, it depends on their reasons for getting it but there are some good reasons. I know someone who had it at 18 and she is happy that she did it and says it made her feel more confident
Agree to disagree it depends on the surgery is and what it’s generally for. If the parents are allow the said kid/teenager to get a surgery for no reason or simply because they want them to then yeah I can agree with you. However if it’s for a medical reasons of some sorts and both parties have given it some thought then I disagree.
to be clear i meant cosmetic surgery gender affirming care is medical so i dont feel strongly about it. As for the person you know....i dont really care, what i said was a generalisation based on a majority i can acknowledge that it may cause temporary relief but because your face is still changing the way the surgery looks will as well so in the long run your friends opinion on getting surgery so young may change. I see it as unethical to alter a completely normal teenagers face for solely cosmetic purposes or alter a completely normal body for that reason and my opinion wont change. What these teens need are therapy not surgery.

Kids. And Gender Affirming Care doesn't involve any surgery for kids at all. Usually it's puberty blockers till you are 16-18, then hormone therapy and surgery much later when they are old enough.
It should be illegal and child abuse to let kids get medically unnecessary plastic surgery. Things like reconstructive plastic surgery, corrective surgery (conditions like polydactyl) and cosmetic surgery in certain situations (necessary for mental health etc) are 100% okay tho... And gender reaffirmed surgery falls between the later two categories too.
You're abusing your kids if you let them use transition drugs any age before 18. They can wear whatever and present themselves however they want until then. But any age below 18 is way too soon for any teenager to know what they're doing. We don't even let kids make most major life decisions until they're 18 and even then people well into their twenties don't even know what they're doing most of the time. How tf are kids supposed to know if they're a boy or girl before 18.
That's so totally true! No one knows their gender until they are 18! That's why all children should be forced to wear gender neutral clothing and use they/them pronouns until they are 18! After all, how tf are kids supposed to know if they are a boy or a girl before 18.
Parents who let their children get plastic surgery need to be put in jail for child abuse what the fuck Your face will keep changing well into your early 20's, atleast wait till 25 for any sort of facial cosmetic surgery. Anybody who does it on someone young is nuts, especially a teenager.
