Stories can and have in killing without rape. The love could be twisted without rape. Someone can be crazy and really sick in the head but still NEVER think about raping someone.
People are allowed to be shocked and angry by rape in a story.
Though I am surprised that they didn't expect it because literally every bl out rn has rape in it. The bl community can't escape it. The readers are also so normalized to it that they defend it comments as if they're rape apologists. So pretty shocking they didn't expect it but nonetheless they're allowed to be surprised and/or upset.
Or maybe they're just really pissed that yet another bl decided to add the rape the character for multiple(and I mean multiple)chapters then apologize and get forgiven and fall in love and live together forever, happily ever after trope. We just love it when victims fall in love with they're rap*sts.
I'm not staying you can't read it out enjoy it(bc why would I, that's not my place) I'm just saying that people are allowed to be surprised and/or upset and that you shouldn't leave comments like this(like saying why they're surprised and shit)
