Maybe he doesn’t know about the mana part. Or maybe he knows and doesn’t care, cuz he did say he’d give Leon a mana stone just like his eyes.
I think the issues is that he knows those earrings are somehow important to Leon, and Leon doing and saying all that to avoid him taking it just proves his point.
