I haven't read the novel but I agreed that some of the ending sucks. Dunno what the author is thinking.
I didn't see the ending as happy tho coz seem like the crown prince not fully get the MC. But yeah, the author did xingxu bad tho.. and the horse.. i din't want to remember about that hirse tho

The crown prince has a horse that has been with him thru war and everything. While trying to save uke(he was dying), they got stranded in a dessert with nothing and they needed water, in short seme killed his horse to try to feed uke some water(horse's blood) cause he was dying.
Its too painful to read coz the horse came back and willing to die for him..

This is stupid arc I could say. Firstly, uke was dying. Seme kidnapped uke from 2nd seme in order to find cure for him. But 2nd seme already searched the whole desert so he knew the exotic plant wasn't be there. However seme was stupid enough to drag dying uke and even faced the bandits. At the end uke still died. This is so stupid. His sacrifice only fasten uke's death. At the end it was 2nd seme who revive uke. Never forget, when uke was tortured in the dungeon become seme accusations , he nearly died. If it's not 2nd seme came to rescue, uke will die long ago. I read it few times and i think author make dirty on 2nd ML fate. He don't deserve this tragic ending when he was the one who always saved uke not seme... Ugh.. the more i read the angrier ive become
This is why am holding back reading this novel after reading some comment here. I know I am going to be so pissed at such turnout. Right now I am reading a novel and am was so angry at the seme and the author how they make uke suffer unnecessarily.
Good choice. Reading the novel just irritated as much as you read the manhua. I don't know why author create a great man like pei xingxu but making him died tragically and even dumped by his wife/uke. He loved uke unconditionally and sacrifice everything for him. But uke rather chose his ex husband rather than his husband because his ex was his 1st love. What a bullshit
Not really. They got lovey dovey at the end. Uke become minister and still work in palace with seme. They often had s*x and the adoptive son thought that the prince was bullying his daddy. It just they don't remarried but their relationship still the same.

What author did to pei xingxu is unforgivable. He is the best guy. You can read how much he sacrifice himself for uke but it only end up uke chose his ex husband rather than his husband. Pei xingxu deserve better. Not a tragical death. He didn't do anything wrong. Why that bastard seme get his happy ending????
