This is definitely gonna bite the emperor's ass.. becauseeeeee, now that the wife admitted to her husband's treason, the emperor wont be able to reverse the punishment, like saying oh the duke is dead so i'll have his wife become one of the successors or their children instead. Had the duke suicided before his wife took the blame, the emperor wouldve have gotten out of the mess.. but nah HAHAHAHAHAHAHA serves him right.
Cedric is the remaining successor now, unless he gets Lawrence back on the line, which i doubt, because the public hates Lawrence and his noble supporters had been dwindling since a few chapters back.
