Haeyool is not a likeable character either. Yes he’s the victim in some circumstance (him and his sponsor) but that doesn’t make him the victim in the mc life. The mc doesn’t owe him his feelings and Haeyool guilt tripping the mc is not right, he knows the mc is too nice for his own good and try to take advantage of that. Now with that being said I’m not saying everyone else is a saint that’s a different discussion. Us as a reader can sympathize with Haeyool but that doesn’t mean we got to like him too.
Trying to even put them on similar ground of problematic is truly delusional.
The guy was nearly raped seconds ago and dealing with rejection. Was he manipulative? He was definitely. Was he guilt tripping? Yes. Is it problematic? Of course although it can be understood to some degree seeing the whole context of the situation. TO SOME DEGREE. It's still problematic behaviour.
But on the other hand we have sexual assaulter who just sent someone to get raped out of jealousy.
I agree, the ML is the worst but I think Haeyool comes at second because he has shown his own obsession and possessive behaviour towards the mc just like the ML Haeyool also has thrown himself on the mc, I don’t think it’s delusional or disgusting when both character hasn’t shown any sign of likeableness.
Like I said Haeyool being a victim in his own narrative is a different discussion. Him being a victim doesn’t single out his toxic behaviour towards the mc. Idk how clouded u can be to not see how he comes at second from the ML In terms or behaviour and actions. But yes let’s not waste each others time since we both have different opinions.
Gosh ur truly illiterate bro am I saying the ML is a fucking angel? Did I say Haeyool is equal to the ML in terms of toxicity? I’m discussing their behaviours and actions towards the mc what’s not clicking bud? But if u wanna keep talking go ahead I’m done talking to someone who can’t read basic English.
Asshole might not have been strong enough word, but they are both problematic.
My first point was about Haeyool being problematic. We already know Seo-An is problematic. It's old news, but Haeyool started to showed his true colors. Seo-An being toxic DOESN'T mean Haeyool cannot be toxic either. Haeyool a victim of SA doesn't make it okay to gaslight someone and manipulate them. Why the fuck did you think he wanted MC to spend the night? Both of them are manipulative and profit from MC being too nice. My line about Seo-An being an asshole was regarding the conversation HE had with Haeyool where he warned him that MC treated everyone this way... He was being an asshole toward him, but he was right. He's not special. MC does the same with him. I am sorry, but being problematic doesn't mean the character is wrong by default either.
The sponsor is not MC's responsability.
No one was saying Seo-An was a good guy either. Calm down lol
I can't stand Haeyool either tbh. He relies on everyone else and blames everyone else. He acts like MC owes it to him when he suddenly confesses and guilt trip him by saying he should've left him with his sponsor. What? ML is an ass, but he didn't lie when he said MC is just being nice to everyone. Asking him to come home with him felt extremely manipulative after all of that.
MC and ML really need to talk... Like really talk. The misunderstanding between them is killing me. Both think the other doesn't like them. Seo-An doesn't understand why MC stopped talking to him. MC thinks Seo-An just fucked around with him for fun. Come on now!
