Onggg I so agree like why tf would he do that it makes no sense
It's heavily implied in the webtoon that he was manipulated (either by the story or by somebody in the crowd magically did it ) to propose by the creaking gears that appeared behind him and his pupils changing.

This is really interesting but the last chapter made no sense. Like the whole plan makes sense except for the proposal. Like why would you propose and get engaged when the beloved Saintess is still missing? Plus you haven't officially broken the engagement with her yet. Feels so inappropriate. Like you don't respect her as someone who was your fiance at all or even as a beloved person of the kingdom
