The men in the village are all aware she's being abused and are covering it up, that's why they keep her hidden. Not only are they okay with it but are accomplices to her husband, that makes them all guilty so they're trying to hide their crime. The woman said most of the men are related so they probably care more about each other than their women, it's sick but also very common for men to justify abuse by another men they know

I'm confused. So Lucy is being abused by her husband? Why in one panel there were like 4 different men holding her? Also why did fl ignore the bruises like unless Lucy is a soldier or was in an accident then bruises shouldn't be ignored and/or brushed off
