Thats absolutely correct but the problem is marketing it, labelling it as bl only to change it. The problem isnt the author wanting to make a bl story or not, it's the fact it started as one and now it's apparently not anymore

But with the removal of the the tag that gives confirmation that there IS romance between them, now its like- is everything just speculation? Plus another comment here says the author posted on their twitter that they dont have feelings for each other. Idk if that's true but if thats the case... we have been baited

It is most likely done by the author so it can get as much reader as it possibly can. The author seems to know that some women/girls fetishize mlm so the author made a book with a 'shounen ai' tag at its release. Now that the amount of reader is a lot, the author probably wanted to remove the tag (I apologize if this doesn't make any sense. English isn't my first language)
