he clearly knows you're serious...but he's pretending it's a joke because he doesn't feel the same way and doesn't want to make it awkward between the two of you. if you've already confessed and said you weren't joking but he still insists you are, I suggest don't confess again and just remain friends. it's probably the best way to not ruin your current relationship. However, from a different view, if you're the type of person to joke a lot about serious things, then that could be the cause to why he doesn't believe you even if you are serious. idk. wish you luck
