in all asian culture the honorific for brother isnāt limited to family, especially in korean where hyung/dongsaeng is used to define a friendship/relationship between someone
when someone asks if youāre friends the response would be āsheās my noona/heās my dongsaengā etc because thereās no proper word for friend
and these honorifics are theyāre used as pet names/acting cute because itās a thing in asian culture, i know for mine itās rooted in the fact they canāt used traditional pet names in public like babe/honey
