yes but no, idk there’s alot of subtext behind it and i understand how it is from a more western mindset and why you’d be grossed out
in all asian culture the honorific for brother isn’t limited to family, especially in korean where hyung/dongsaeng is used to define a friendship/relationship between someone
when someone asks if you’re friends the response would be ‘she’s my noona/he’s my dongsaeng’ etc because there’s no proper word for friend
and these honorifics are they’re used as pet names/acting cute because it’s a thing in asian culture, i know for mine it’s rooted in the fact they can’t used traditional pet names in public like babe/honey
