I just feel like…. The plot is…. Messy??? Like idk how to explain it, it feels like they’d be great stories side by side but have like no coherence together???
I love Jo. I really do, and I WISH he was endgame, but he’s SUCH a sideho to Ian, and I don’t know how to deal with that cuz it’s like he’s such an outsider, like at this point what is even his role here?

honestly if that’s on purpose that’s genius. Cus Ian and Jo are so completely different

Jo’s purpose is to force Ian to admit how he feels about TJ and admit to himself who TJ is. Both as his lover, and as a person. He isn’t supposed to fit in. If he fit in, there’s no reason for Ian to look beyond what’s always been there and what he’s always seen.

I read some of the Korean comments from the raws and I feel like like a lot of people share this sentiment including me! Ian not knowing what he wants and the plot being a bit all over the place is making this not as good. This started with a lot of potential but here we are and Ian is still fucking around with both of them. At this point I don’t care who it is, just choose one.

You are saying Jo is nothing more than a cupid or catalyst lol to make Tjian endgame possible. If he isn't supposed to fit in the story then why it has to be a love triangle? Why couldn't the author just focused on Ian and TJ?

I feel like if Ian and TJ have not made it work out for 15+ years, they’re not about to anymore. I think the point of the story is about letting go of what is familiar and in this case toxic and embracing a new love/life/beginning. That you CAN start all over again and find purpose. That’s where Joe comes in. I mean I could be wrong and maybe TJ is the endgame but it really feels like Ian just has to take the leap and let go of what is holding him down (this case is TJ) and their past life.

No. I’m saying Jo isn’t supposed to fit into TJ and Ian’s story. Jo is completely different from anything Ian already knows. He wouldn’t even appeal to Ian the way he does if he was anything like what he’s used to. You see how easily Ian dismisses the many other men he has sex with. They’re all too familiar. Jo could be end game, can’t really tell yet because Ian was ready to desert him, right along with TJ. But I do feel like the only reason Jo has a chance is because he’s so different and doesn’t seem to fit in anywhere.

At this point in the story, it’s hard to tell. If the whole point was just for Ian to let go, he was ready to do that when he got the fake ID to disappear. He’s already begun separating himself from the gang business and was ready to disappear from TJ altogether. I feel the author intentionally made Jo seem so out of place because it’s not just about the love triangle, but the things Ian is dealing with internally.

That's why Jo is in the story because he's different from everyone. He is bringing the thrilling and fascinating factors that's so different from TJ and Ian who are from a similar environment. That's what makes this story unique and complex because every character coming from a different backgrounds. Ian already found him interesting before he even approached Jo. Yes, Ian is the the one who approached Jo not the other way around cause he took a liking on him. He first only wanted to have a one night stand with him but he never expected they would get closer and this is what triggered TJ cause he knew Jo isn't a mere one night stand and he's different from all the men Ian sleeps with. The difference is what makes him to be a part in this story.

Yes, exactly. Jo’s role is to be different. Whether he is chosen or not.

Which i think was the whole point since the beginning but the way the story is progressing it’s making Jo a super super side character, like we baaaarely get a glimpse of him. I feel like if they wanted to portray a bit more of the “struggle” or that idk shift from Ian, then we should’ve gotten a bit more of their relationship progression. But we get a mention of Jo and 10 chapters of Ian and TJ going at it. So it’s a little hard to feel Jo’s relevance in the story. At least as of now. Maybe it’ll change a bit in the coming chapters, but right now, I feel like the story has lost Jo’s purpose as a “portrayed” main character

I agree with you. At this point I’m trying to figure where the story is going and what the author is trying to do. While Joe and Ian do have “something”, it hasn’t been explored at all because we have spent so much time with TJ so it makes sense why we’re all wondering what Joe’s purpose is. ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
