Is it me or is Korean Law actually fucked up

Ok this is weird to brought up but I just recently watched this documentary of an old scandal that happened in the Kpop industry. I’m not into kpop but the scandal got me curious and all I gotta say, TLDR: Korean society have this toxicity side where they victim blame than actually punishing actual predator and rapists and only giving them 1-5 fcking years?! LIKE EXCUSE ME???

This is what I noticed in this chapter. Like holy fuck this is so messed up. I hate how victims are always forced to submit and not defend their rights and themselves. Because fucking society prefers to let this all die down than actually protecting the citizens. I swear to god if that fcking rapist mf character that I don’t bother memorizing his name doesn’t get punished, I’m going to do the unthinkable. I thought Japan’s lack of mental health and releasing criminals is fucked up but Korean is no different and at the same level of fuckery as Japan.

Yeonwoo deserves a better life. He needs justice and his friends to protect him (because it seems none of them except Junhyuk taking this seriously and I hate it) No this is not him being a damsel in distress. He is a literal traumatized kid who experienced physical, emotional, mental and sexual abuse! Yes, Yeonwoo needs therapy too but how can he when the fucking rapist is out there living a good life and will always haunt Yeonwoo.

Yeah but the thing is JH is the only person who knows and YW is not willing to let anyone else know what happens to him because of how much it traumatized him and how much he thinks is going to make everyone hate him. In Korean society things like that are very possible where if the victim comes and speaks out they are blamed for what happened to them. And I feel like it's going to take a while for YW to actually tell his new friends what happened to him because JH only found out because he saw that bastard's phone. If JH didn't find out YW would have taken that to his grave.

I recommend watching something called juvenile justice. It's in Netflix but it shows how the young offenders get away with stuff

True but I wish they also take into account that if your friend is going through something, you can’t brush it off or ignore it as if nothings happening. Yeonwoo’s su*cide isn’t him escaping or running away, it’s desperate call for him even if he is afraid of anyone knowing, deep inside no matter what it is, it’s a call for help. Like I wanted them to acknowledge Yeonwoo’s is going through something and be patient until Yeonwoo himself tells them. Be patient and wait for him while also making him comfortable that they are there for him.

I’m sorry if this seems an attack to you It wasn’t and I didn’t mean it. I hoped there are authors out there who can handle characters’ reaction towards su*cide when it’s someone close to them.

I completely understand and agree. I want them to show more of how his trauma is affecting him and I'm sure we're going to get more of that as the series goes on.
