Noooo I think they just called the element of incest disgusting….. I don’t remember seeing comments calling aqua disgusting . Ruby idk y she hasn’t matured yet, even though she has lived twice her age.
I found a few comments back then but not a lot and for Ruby’s immaturity, I think it’s because she died at 12 years old in her previous life, not getting the chance to experience the harsh reality of growing up. Then she’s reborn as Ai’s daughter, given a privilege than any normal human being. When you have a celebrity parent, you’re free from a lot of painful experiences because you have connections, inherited talent and image of being a celebrity’s child which none of us experienced while growing up.
Like compare Aqua and Ruby’s current selves in this chapter, Aqua was an adult who lived a harsh life = mature viewpoint then we got Ruby who was a lonely kid shut away from the world = child viewpoint. Sometimes a child who recently cured of their illness can be naive when they step into society. There are many different pains and not all of us can understand that pain.
That makes sense. But I think Maria was 15, the same age as Ai when she was in the hospital. Anyway that doesn’t matter but, yes the point of her having a child view makes sense. I remember when we were kids we used to have the “fav uncle” or “fav brother”, Ruby just took it to the next level
She was 14 when she made the "promise" with Gorou (that he would marry her when she turned 16- mind you, he agreed because he knew she was terminal and didn't want to upset her any more), but she had been in the hospital for far longer than that. Enough for her mom to pretend Sarina was never in her life to begin with, pretty much. Everything she's been doing has pretty obviously been a trauma response to that, especially considering most of this has developed AFTER Ruby reconnected with Sarina's mom, realized Sarina was never truly wanted by her old family, and THEN realized Gorou was right next to her again.
It’s the same old attachment issues…. She just needs to be more aware of what they are now. She doesn’t consider she is Ruby, Aqua’s sister.
Thank you for explaining! I think at the future chapters, I want Ruby to get therapy or experience life far away from Aqua for a while because she’s still hung up on Sensei/Aqua’s care for her in previous life. But I can’t blame her if she’s going to have a hard time but she needs it because I’m pretty sure Aqua will not approve of what Ruby will do. She has to face reality and learn moral things now that she is given a new life, a second chance.
I still recall back then how people in comments were commenting that Aqua is disgusting because of incest. People always turn a blind eye that it has always been Ruby who wanted it the most. Aqua is staying in his own lane and even said it himself he is uncomfortable.
