seems like everytime there's a cross dresser plot the authors choose to go the route of having some average guy who thinks he's found himself a cute girl then get tricked and assaulted over and over again. but it's all okay because he actually likes getting raped guys he's just internally homophobic and that's why he says no constantly.
a physical reaction does not equate to consent, which is obvious to anyone with even a quarter of a brain.
also, it really doesn't help the whole "trans women are predators" stigma. they obviously aren't trans women in this case, but the implication is there. a person who dresses as a woman, acts like a woman, calls themselves she, but is actually a predator who uses their appearance to fool vulnerable people and assault them. hmmm... where have i heard that description used before?
cross dressers are not trans women. but trans women share superficial similarities with cross dressers thus making these types of storylines all the more insidious. also, it's still gross to portray cross dressers as predators regardless.
Realll challenge for Bl authors try to find ways to make your characters have segs without using rape as an excuse. Mission impossible lmao Why am i reading this
And the fact most authors probably had or have a relationship and still can't draw consent, like, is everything okay in your sex life??

exactly!!! i feel like part of it is that female authors are writing bl with the belief that it's okay when it's a man getting assaulted because men are 'stronger' or 'more durable' or whatever. it's so odd because when a man is raped it's "hot" instead of absolutely heinous and disgusting.

Right? I don't mind fetishes, but raping ones is DISGUSTING
Like i know nobody will gaf because as long as its smut ur not supposed to have any expectations but like what’s so wrong with having conversations on certain tropes and what they might reflect
how come i wrote a similar post about how this whole trope is weird and transphobic yet i get a majority downvotes and people saying im a "weak minded radical" what is happening??

YUP! but its especially bad for the "crossdressing" BLs and i feel like too that most of those characters would just be trans or gender fluid

exactly! discussions can be educational for some people, and it's good to gain perspective!
