this !!!! i personally feel like this is such a representation of the reality of a loving relationship in a difficult environment, most people have some sort of baggage and need to learn how to better themselves for their own self /and/ their partner (on both sides). this kind of story can easily be read as toxic but i personally believe because they both actually care about each other’s feelings and they try to work together on the problems they have, even if its hard a first, it’s not. like u said why are people picking ‘a side’ when they’re the two people in /their/ relationship? anyways,, people are complex and can have two oxymoron feelings at once, let writers write their own characters w the same value. (especially if it fits a character’s personality /coughcough/ minato)
Agreed, with all this, especially with "Let Hinohara-sensei execute her story". There's a lot of hate for both characters, it is important for there to be complexity to make them more human-like, even if it's frustrating
This is what I'm trying to say, neither Minato or Shizuma are perfect, but the later gets the short end of the stick because Minato is pampered a lot too by this fandom, he did awful things TOO in fact he may have done worst first but now everyone forgot because he is hot/cute and has a traumatic past. I get him, I really do, but his own brother had it hard too and he is not like that. Good thing the mangaka doesn't forgets and I like how she is working his character and trauma steadily.
Same with Shizuma, but hr is arguably an "easier" character whose only flaw is being overly nice with people.
fr lol, It's like they can't take that although it's a fictional manga, it ALLUDES to REAL problems of REAL relationships. You don't have to pick a side. Their story is like a lesson for you when you have a relationship for real. I just hate that they are acting as if the two charas are doing NOTHING to fix this, when you can see they ARE.
EXHIBIT A. They didn't do Sex Therapy. Shizuma was THANK GOD not hard when they are still dealing with hard stuff.
NEXT Minato Actually didn't walk out or shut himself of this time. He actually spoke.
NEXT While they are angry as to why Shizuma hasn't done anything after commiting the same wrong thing to ex before. it was because he didn't have the chance. He may have known HOW he was wrong, but not WHAT to do in reality. You can see him trying to compensate by asking Minato to speak up. Cause as much as you want a self-aware Partner, you must ALSO learn to communicate what you want.
These two are NOT perfect but GOD I'm telling you, they already did WAY BETTER than dysfunctional relationships in BL world out there. I'm just flabbergasted how others took it lol.

like i said on the comment down there, don't act as if YOUR standards is the same for this two. Minato has standards and Requirements, and Shizuma likewise.
