But I really can't understand accepting this arrangement after they take the next step of their relationship in the future, like marriage/partners for life. Then why did you read this in the first place? The whole premise of the manga is about a relationship of a normal person with a sex worker. He entered into a relationship with kyousuke knowing and agreeing to the other guy being a sex worker.

Why is it that in your head you were expecting to fix him? Stop projecting your own beliefs. There are people with this kind of relationship and in Japan, largely, sex work is not seen as sex. In fact sex is like eating, shitting, sleeping. A need that can be fulfilled with a service like restaurants for food, hotels for sleep. Love and sex are different.

but he has the right to feel bad about it, even if previously he agreed to it. he can tell him he feels uncomfortable but cutting your partner of with “I HAVE NO INTENTION OF QUITTING” is so… yuck.

I don't know about the boss thing but for sure, in Japan, there is a majority consensus that sex work is not cheating - be it boyfriend or spouse. Of course there are also some who would never tolerate it if they're monogamous. For those people, they dont get in the relationship in the first place. Also, he is allowed to feel bad but he cant stop his lover from doing his literal job.

He should've made it clear that he doesn't like it then. Or brought it up later and made it an ultimatum. But he doesnt and he also doesnt make it such a big issue as everyone in the comments are. If kyousuke is proud of his job irrespective of the public view on his job, then so be it. You can't call him an ahole for valuing his job. He has no emotional connection to any of sex acts or people he does it with.

I have. Obviously he isn't a big fan of it but he doesn't make it such an issue that it's a dealbreaker for him. At the end of the day, I just think it's wrong for us readers to read a story about a sex worker and being attracted to that promiscuity whilst expecting he would change and be monogamous. It's a double standard. If he does change, great but we shouldn't expect him to and this goes towards people in real life as well. ╮(￣▽￣)╭

this is a fair statement!! if someone doesn’t want to date a sex worker then they shouldn’t. in the same sense i find it a bit weird he’s being blamed intensely for it sticking to this industry, when it was an already established fact before they even started anything romantic

it’d be different if mc was unaware while dating or the ml started the job after they got together… but mc knew what he was signing up for when dating an active pornstar
