I, for one, don't think she loves him romantically at all. It's more like she's trying to live he's expectations of she loving him. And he's just possessive and obsessed, he wants to posses her, be her whole world and have her eyes just for him! That's not love. (And he's just successful because Dietrich is supposed dead and was her only anchor in the whole going back on time situation, and Dietrich is the only green flag in the whole story, and i feel he care of her like family, happy he has a wife and seems it's a healthy relationship, he deserves it)

My theory is that:
1. they will have another life, it's implied in the story at some points (like the empress saying her 10th life wil be doing that and what not);
2. And they are alucatia and the goddess of revenge reincarnation, (the best scenario, the worst is the goddess and the child she adopted)
