I don't have an issue with the mc, just the premice of the story and the author's logic for the mc
It looks to me like it may not be a crush she has on the duke persay but like there's those instances where you fall in love with someone cause they save your life.
The duke showed her kindness when she was starving on the street and gave her a job so she's grateful obviously. But working to the point of nosebleeds seems so stupid to me.
Like ur siblings literally need you and you're gonna risk dying from overwork?!?!? Cause u have a crush!!!
Like I've had that kinda crush before when an upperclassman saved me from drowning but i got over it. She's already in a stable position so i don't see why the mc would still feel the need to kill herself just for a crumb of attention. To even lie about debt you don't have is crazy.
Like girl is so whipped she's making up financial struggles. It would be better if she said she wants to make sure she's earning her keep since she didn't get hired through regular means.
Also the beginning of the comic just reeks of bootlicking, elitism and classism. Like oh beggars are just lazy, they don't try hard enough. They don't wanna work, that's why they steal and beg. Like the thing about escaping poverty is that luck is super important. Like she was lucky that her grandma gave her an education and that the duke was kind enough to give her a job.
If u work hard enough your employer will notice you. BS. Many jobs don't even offer overtime and expect employees to stay after hours anyway. So I always hate when they make it look like the MC is admirable for being a doormat.
It just doesn't feel like love to me. It realy feels like a saviour's complex. Baka
True. Right now it is savior complex which will later convert into love when both of them will be on equal footing in the relationship. I think that's how author wants story to progress.
