This has been happening alot recently, thanks for sharing that link, I'd like to use it, some people here have been telling others to 'kill themselves' for reading something that according to them is morally wrong and kind of started a self-claimed revolution to make others not read those work.

Definitely not funny. It's more annoying. Like there are so many factors accounting for it. Every country has their own cultural and behavioral aspects. That also affects the tropes they like. Just because you're unable to understand something doesn't mean it's unacceptable. Trust me, it has changed too much. Now People feel entitled enough to request author or publishers to change the source element just because they find it uncomfortable. Example I remember so many minors and Puritans protesting online to not make the cover of tgcf with a kiss scene between THE MAIN CHARACTERS btw. Don't consume it if you're uncomfortable. I 100% agree OP!! There are so many varieties and sub genres in comics, idk why some people expect every single one to fit their own personal preference. And make it seem like other people’s preferences are “wrong”.
Also art is art. If you don’t like something, that doesn’t stop it from being art. It’s just not for you. I wish people could understand that.
To go even deeper: Antis who make abrasive comments on comics attacking others and authors for liking tropes they “disapprove” of tend to not fully understand the concept that media does not equal real life. When we listen to music, watch movies, and read books, our brains are supposed to understand consciously and unconsciously that what we are consuming isn’t real. That’s the entire point of media. To stimulate our brains in ways real life doesn’t. Example. People watch horror but I’m sure most fans of horror don’t feel the need to hurt people in the real world. That’s just obvious.
As a result this leads people to have preferences. And that’s fine.
The difference between the behavior of antis and people who have preferences. Is that someone with a different preference might say something like “not for me but the art is nice/plot was okay, but it didn’t fit my tastes/intrigued by the cover but I couldn’t feel the chemistry at all” etc. it’s totally fine to NOT LIKE SOMETHING. but antis saying things like “you guys are fucked up/disgusting/p*do/how could you support X y z” I literally just bullying behavior. You are just trying to force your control on someone else. It’s also performative activism because policing the preferences and enjoyment of others (especially women who historically are almost never allowed to have space anywhere let alone enjoy things, which I wish antis would think about).
Also for decades and beyond, people have fought for the freedom of sexual expression in media. Like books are still being banned in schools for even mentioning same gender relationships. Yet antis are pissed at authors and readers for enjoying comics? You’re just as bad as the people banning books in schools. Lol.
Sadly antis will one day have a mirror shown to them and realize they’re becoming (if not already) the monsters they think they’re fighting.
Lastly, antis need to learn: it’s just not that deep.
Like even on a basic level, if I wanna see drawings fuck other drawings, it’s not that deep.
Feel free to create your own media and commission your favorite artists to create content that fits YOUR preference. But at the end of the day, you’ll ALSO find others who think your preferences are bad. And no one will care.
