If your boss ask to go have a cup of coffee, you CAN refuse. They won't fire you over that. If shizuma needs to be on call, it's understandable but hanging out with your colleagues and boss is your choice. For me, I don't feel to socialize with my colleagues after work since i have my own private life too. But once in awhile is ok but not too frequent
no i definitely understand it, it’s just frustrating with how he deals with the situation. especially when he knew how upset it made his partner feel, causing him to reflect back into his trauma. “ i’m just like my mother “, he offered to leave his job for the mc and the mc argued against him which was nice ig LOLL. but either way, he WAS aware, even if it wasn’t before this all happened. it’s the fact he continued to do it even after knowing, it’s annoying to have a partner like that. i dont think people find him necessarily the worst character, just infuriating with how he doesn’t properly look at his partner. they need to talk not fuck
I agree, I'm just trying to explain why shizuma has such a hard time with it bc social stuff like that is just as important as the actual job unfortunately and idk the culture they have at their office really seems like everyone wants to do their job normally but have to bend to the wikl of the director since its the director
Tbh I don't get all the Shizuma hate rn. Like yeah he definitely could be handling stuff better, but he really doesn't have as much of a choice as people seem to think. If his boss wants him to do something or go somewhere, he can't exactly decline or else he might lose his job. I understand people being annoyed about him still being friends/friendly with Yuka, but it does make sense to try and stay on good terms wirh someone who you're going to end up seeing often/working with regardless of past experiences. Shizuma is so completely long over her too, and also Yuka is the one pressuring him into stuff all the time, which he likely feels he can't refuse without putting a lot of things at risk. He also says outright that he can't know how Minato is feeling if he doesn't tell him, and I honestly relate to that a lot. If I don't know specifically what in a situation is bothering you, how am I supposed to know how to deal with it? Direct communication is so important in any relationship, and Shizuma could definitely stand to get better at that, but so could Minato. I am not blaming Minato for anything btw, his attitude and fears are completely understandable given his past and I don't blame him for being upset. I do think that in the next chapters there will probably be a scene in which boss asks for something and Shizuma gets fed up/really can't anymore and tells them to take Tatsumi(?) Instead. I hope that all makes sense lol shizuma definitely fumbling the bag rn but he's not as horrible as people are making him out to be imo
