A happy ever after ending might satisfy readers' fantasy and ease our souls, but it is obviously not realistic. Given the nature of their complex relationship. They just cannot be lovey dovey and be content for the rest of their lives.
Kang Moo will most likely keep killing. And Kirin is stuck with him forever, being aware of his killing and unable to do anything.
