Dialogue

I feel like there’s other stuff to point out about the writing but I think it’s mostly a case of show don’t tell…the dialogue is super long sometimes and you’d have to slog through it. A lot could be condensed or left to be shown so the reader catches on.
The main characters design is really cute though and the covers a delight to look at!

I wonder if it's because its an author/artist duo, it feels like maybe they haven't perfected their system? Like it feels like the author is writing a story and the artist is just directly converting it into a comic instead of planning it out as a comic from the beginning and thinking of how to tell the story visually... Kind of felt this in their other work also.

Oh I didn’t know that they were a duo, yeah that makes sense! I think the problem mainly lies in the script. It could’ve definitely been revised more, especially if there had been trust that the artist could provide whatever else visually. Also looking at it from the artist’s standpoint, be it hired or friendly collaboration, I can definitely see how it might be hard for them to transfer the script into the final manga. If they’re only the artist, then they can’t really cut dialogue out unless they consult with the writer. Plus they can’t even spread it out more evenly due to the limited pages and chapter…though hopefully with more experience they can improve their craft! Thank you for the input!
