It's understandable when romance is absent, interactions don't feel that interesting but not all horror types are supposed to be like that in the first place. MC can be as good as a coward, then learn from mistakes, fish for info and watch out for sus individuals while being careful of his surroundings. Romance for ghosts would be death for living (exceptions exist though) and I prefer romance only as a subplot (either vengeful or haunted) or none at all. This had good potential but got ruined by external factors, liked My House of Horrors (MHH) but ed part I pretend they got along instead of a weird happy ending scene, too out of place. But feel free to try them, it's just me being biased as I liked MHH better than this
