Had been wondering as well, guess it is supposed to be the sound of heartbeat after all. A drizzle (raindrops going pit-a-patter) would have been classy too, kinda liked my misunderstanding. :)
it is the sound of the heartbeating, for some reason I find more mangas use pit-a-pat and manwhas use ba-dump but that’s just my experience
What the fuck is pit-a-pat? Is that supposed to be the sound of a heart beat? Why not use the normal ba-dump ba-dump? Is it the sound of a heart skipping a beat? It still doesn't seem right tho. It's beginning to irritate me
