Yes, tbh you'd expect Hexion to be broody after the number of times he failed to protect Adele. But although he had sorrow, he was happy to see her again too instead of fpcusing on the pain of his past and obsessing over saving her. And whenever he overdid anythinh, Adele would stand up to him. Hexion wanted to better himself to be a better partner for Adele and Adele wanted to get better at using her powers to help relive Hexion. It was a very good depiction of a balanced and healthy relationship.
It's not a perfect story by any means but it has so much heart and charm and SUCH a lovely ending I really, really enjoyed it. Adele and Hexion are so sweet together and have a wonderfully healthy relationship as well. It really think that if Hexion hadn't been written so warmly it would have been a completely different story. He's unlike so many other ML's in this genre and it's really served him and the story well!! I can definitely see myself re-reading this is the future
