Yeah I just saw it too. A case of misunderstanding feelings due to certain events. Mutual and all but was left to fester in ambiguity. Tho, like you, I couldn't understand a single panel ヘ(￣ω￣ヘ)
Thanks for confirming! Since I only relied on looking at the panels, I felt a little presumptious.
At least that's how I understood it. The bottom seemed more obviously whipped but yakuza circumstances prevailed and has left Akemi unable to reciprocate in kind. Again, that's how I interpreted it.

By any chance was it Akemi that was crying n the library? Sorry for the spoiler question.
I do not think so since Ona and Akemi were friends since they were young (all were wearing the same uniform). Akemi and Suguru had slightly different hair. Ona and Akemi had their touching moment in a flash back in the rain and a panel showed rain running down Akemi's face.
Again, I did not translate and only going by the panels I just looked at so there is a chance I am wrong and dialogue reveals something else.

Now for very tame obvious spoilers:
Obviously Oka ends up with his long time friend...he's in the cover. Akemi has always loved him is you could not already tell (they had a touching flashback moment of when they were young).
Suruga is actually very stylish outside of work and they just become friends like they hung out. From my memory, they don't even kiss (I only viewed it a few hours ago). Would not call this a love triangle especially since it really was just Oka sorting out his feelings.
