For those of y'all who felt bad for Christa, lemme drop some knowledge for ya! Christa had always been in love with Heinry, but due to her father's grand schemes (or should I say delusions of grandeur?), she was forced to marry Heinry's elder brother (and from what was insinuated, it seemed like he was an a-hole). Knowing that the previous King was born sickly, Christa devised a plan to slowly poison him to death. She figured since it was common in the Western Kingdom for widowed queens to be remarried to the brother that inherits the throne, Heinry would now be hers for the taking. Heinry was never interested in her and purposely perpetuated the playboy persona because he didn't want to contend for the throne, although many nobles wanted him to.


For those who feel bad for Rashta: She's murdered several women in the palace because she feared they'd either A: sell her secrets or B(95% of her murders): She was paranoid they might catch Sovieshu's attention and become the next concubine and usurp her power, like she did to Navier. (Those she didn't kill, she sold into slavery.) When her daughter was born, she planned to kill her and switch her with a male child so that she could remain the Empress of the Eastern Empire. It was only after she heard gossip from the maids that Sovieshu adored her daughter that she took an interest in her daughter's welfare, and played up the whole "distraught mother wanting to see her daughter" routine. Her baby daddy actually DID want to marry her and set her free, but because his father disagreed and he feared his father, he never had the nerve to go against his wishes.

Ergi is Sovieshu's half brother. His mother was the favored concubine that Sovieshu's mother (the former empress) framed for the poisoned cookies that Sovieshu and Navier ate as kids. He teamed up with Heinry to destroy the Eastern Empire.
