I don’t where you got that from, tbh. He calls it an engagement ring. He just says that he’ll get him a fancy one once he’s able to afford it. It was a real proposal and real engagement. I guess the author just decided retcon it for whatever reason and do it over.
ya'll i asked that question again. someone who re-read it said they did propose to each other before but beom was like he didn't have the money to give a legit ring so the latest proposal is solidifying that he wants to get married. before was more like a promise (a place holder) even tho both beom and dowon gave rings...smth like that
