Absolutely agreed , he is using the "free agent" card beyond the maximum , but I guess he can't just shake off years of toxicity. He has also pointed out that Jo looks at him similarly to how TJ used to in the past and that might make him a bit avoidant as to not have the same relationship and ending but I guess hope keeps him going.
