Either you lack empathy, never been SAed, or you’ve never been manipulated in your entire life. Which if you’ve haven’t I hope you never do. And if you have, you lack empathy and reading comprehension.
you don't even need to withstand such atrocities to be empathetic. empathy is a characteristic of anyone with a decent (mandatory may i add) amount of emotional intelligence and understanding. it was an immature comment of exasperation, i'd say.
cus, you're correct, the mc has truly always been a victim. and the ghost could very well have bore no special power, cus, as mentioned, they were originally pure entities. it was apparently given many names and labels throughout its life yet none fit. not once did anyone say they were fortune telling creatures. smh
