He ain't a red flag he is literally trying to protect him and get him out of the picture so he doesn't get involved in whatever family feud going on, he wants to protect him from even his memories and is willing to save his father who caused his trauma, if that's red flag I am not sure what green flag is, sometimes I feel we are all reading a different story lol
