I get you. But I think the whole point is that euihyun never had a real/happy childhood. Was always having responsibility and having to be an adult and look after someone else robbed him off that. It makes sense that being comforted in the same way a child is would soothe his inner child as well as current him, feeling love and care that he never got when he was younger
Also he’s in great distress so probably didn’t even register that taeju was picking him up because of how much of a panic he was in

Look, I'm all for giving tragic characters some major ups and I'm all for sweet, caring male leads but holy hell this was not it. The whole "babying" thing that the seme is doing is kinda cringing me out ngl. Like honestly I feel like any normal person would be mortified if a man picked them up like a toddler and rubbed soothing circles on their back (-_-;) for a moment there I thought he'd start rocking the guy to sleep I just can't with that ish.
