He just said that so Matthew could stop blaming himself for everything that ever happened, it was rape, but at the same time Matthew was not in his right mind, which Jin understood bc of the specific drug and that's why he's not going off on him (not excusing Matthews actions ofc)
same. it made me feel iffy. and people defending his actions saying well the person who got raped said it wasn't rape so stop calling it that is also making me feel iffy.
Still, as a reader I just know that this will be the only conclusion of this conversation and the whole rape scene will never be addressed again. So yeah, even if I understand the intention of the fictional character, I can’t understand the intention of the actual author.
