Tbh I really can’t get past the whole « it’s not rape because I spread my legs for you » (when he really didn’t have a choice to do so) bullshit.

    He just said that so Matthew could stop blaming himself for everything that ever happened, it was rape, but at the same time Matthew was not in his right mind, which Jin understood bc of the specific drug and that's why he's not going off on him (not excusing Matthews actions ofc)

    Still, as a reader I just know that this will be the only conclusion of this conversation and the whole rape scene will never be addressed again. So yeah, even if I understand the intention of the fictional character, I can’t understand the intention of the actual author.

    Even I understand his pov. But it’s the fact that the rape was actually addressed by the author and yet it was simply brushed like that with this kind of conclusion. It’s kinda frustrating I gotta say

    I think she made it like that bc of the characters personalities, like, the way Jin acts towards Matthew would be like that
