I feel like the reason that the two prince's father isnt just choosing the first prince even if he's very visibly stronger than the second prince (vlads master) is bc the first prince is probbly lacking in terms of leadership. As in vlad's master feels like he probbly fits the profile of a wise and benevolent ruler compared to his brother bc tbf, his brother doesnt seem to be surrounding himself with good people too. And im not saying that the first prince is all brawns no brains bc he's still pretty strategic and does have a sense of responsibility but the people he associates himself with seem to be the primary problem in the first place.

I think the father never thought the second son will make it but as a form of future lord "education" he allows a competition for the first not to become complacent, and since the second has a right to compete the Lord seems fair and just.. I'm confused by the black magic assassin on that expedition.. at first it said it was the first son scheme? I don’t remember but he doesn't seem to be evil for now I think a hidden enemy will show up for the county and prob when second son will get his chance

The second's mother is already dead. The one who's currently alive is the first's mother and she's the most probable suspect.

Also why would the second son's mom try to kill her own child to stop him from inheriting? Ntm that just because the first's mother hasnt been shown doesnt mean that she's not a viable actor/perpetrator. That actually just makes her more suspicious.

I swear she was the second's mother?? they even said how Jager(eyepatch) is her family's knight and how she is being nice to mc because mc is her son's knight
